The short version
StarPath doesn't ask for your name, email, or an account of any kind. Your career - stats, decisions, saves - stays on your device. We use a privacy-friendly analytics tool to see which parts of the game get played (never who's playing), and Google AdMob to show ads that keep the game free. That's the whole shape of it; the rest of this page spells out the specifics.
What we collect
Gameplay data (analytics). StarPath sends anonymous usage events - a career starting, a decision made, a season completed, an award won - to Mixpanel, our analytics provider. Each device gets a random identifier generated on first launch; it isn't linked to your name, email, or Apple ID, and can't be used to identify you personally.
Save data. Your career (stats, club, relationships, season history) is stored locally in the app using standard iOS on-device storage. It is never uploaded to us or to any third party.
We do not collect your name, email address, precise location, photos, contacts, or any other personal information you haven't chosen to type into your device's own settings elsewhere.
Advertising & tracking
StarPath shows ads through Google AdMob to keep the game free to play. To do this, AdMob (and the ad networks it works with) may collect device identifiers and ad-interaction data - for example, your device's advertising identifier (IDFA), approximate location from your IP address, and which ads you saw or tapped.
On iOS, we ask for tracking permission via Apple's App Tracking Transparency the first time it's relevant. If you decline or haven't responded, StarPath still shows ads - they're just less tailored to you, based on the ad context rather than your device history.
Some ads are optional and reward-based: you can choose to watch one in exchange for an in-game benefit (for example, rerolling your starting club options). These only ever play when you tap to start them.
Google's own handling of this data is governed by their policies: see Google's Privacy Policy and how Google uses data in ads.
Who it's shared with
We don't sell your data. It's shared only with the service providers that make the app work, each acting under their own privacy terms:
- Mixpanel - anonymous gameplay analytics.
- Google AdMob - advertising, as described above.
We may also disclose information if required by law, or to protect the rights, safety, or property of players or the public.
Children's privacy
StarPath is listed under Sports and isn't directed at children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has provided us data through a third-party service linked above, contact us using the address on the Support page and we'll look into it.
Your choices
You can turn off ad personalization at any time in your device settings (Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking, and Settings → Privacy & Security → Apple Advertising), which limits what AdMob can use for targeting. Uninstalling the app removes your local save entirely, since nothing is kept on our servers to delete.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes in a way that matters, we'll update the effective date above. Continuing to use StarPath after a change means you're okay with the updated version.
